Blessed are we who trust this timing,
and who open our hearts anew
to change, to new friends, to hope.
Nervous, maybe heavy-hearted,
but brimming with gratitude for a life
so beautiful that it hurts to say goodbye.
Blessed are we, turning our eyes ahead
toward a new path not yet mapped.
God, give us courage to take this next step,
and enough for the one after that, too.
Remind us that you have gone before
and behind, and around,
and are with us now.
In our leaving, in our arriving,
in our changes, expected or shocking,
surprise us with who we might become.

Church family,
I know this is a unique time of transition for our church. At our church members' meeting on June 25, 2025, I shared that we feel the next steps for Covenant is to join up with another church. Since we have strong dedication to serve the Lord and win the lost, we are determined to humbly seek the Lord's guidance for a church family to partner with.
Because of their encouragement, generosity, and prayers, we decided to start visiting First Baptist Church Soddy-Daisy.
Blessings,
Pastor Adam
FAQs
- Are we still a separate church? Yes. Covenant is still an autonomous church with members and a pastor.
- Where should I give? All members of Covenant are asked to continue tithing to Covenant while we visit and pray about next steps.
- How do I give? You can give online. You can also hand your tithes to Cheryl or Jenny. If you want to mail a gift, the church has a post office box: Covenant Church, P.O. Box 151 Soddy-Daisy, TN 37384.
- I need to update my automated giving, how do I do that? You can log into our giving platform to update your online giving and check your online giving record here.
- Is Adam still my pastor? Yes. Adam is available for pastoral care, Bible studies, prayer, hospital visits, etc. He is still providing leadership to Covenant during this time of visiting and prayerful contemplation.
- Can you tell me more about First Baptist Church? https://fbcsoddydaisy.com/
- How long do we plan to visit FBC? In our June 25 business meeting, we voted to visit FBC for two months before voting on next steps.
- What are next steps? After we visit with FBC, we will discuss, pray, and vote on next steps. Possible next steps are joining up with them, start visiting another church, start doing our own services again, or close.
- What about Pastor Adam? In our discussions, we will discuss how the next steps affect each of our ministry leaders. Adam has not received a ministry/job offer from any church other than Covenant. He and Jenny are walking by faith like the rest of the church family.
- Why did we sell our building? We could no longer afford the monthly mortgage payment.
- Why did we start using FBC in January? Two churches offered to let us use their facility. The members of Covenant voted to use the FBC facilities.
- Why are we visiting FBC? The members of Covenant voted to visit FBC because our current worship schedule was not working and we were not reaching people. FBC has been encouraging through out our difficult time. They made sure we had a place to meet. They prayed for us and showed amazing love. We are also impressed by their ministries to the community, dedication to world missions, along with great music and preaching that is very similar to what we are used to.
- Is this a "done deal?" No. We are just visiting. The church leaders know we are visiting to see if the Lord is leading us to join up with them. We have not asked anything from them and they are not offering anything to us. We are taking this time to pray, worship, and get to know other brothers & sisters in Christ.
- Can I come back if I haven't been to church in a while? Yes, of course!
